WEEKLY LAB EXERCISES AND GUIDED TUTORIALS

All lab exercises, whether requiring submission or not, will be posted here.

  • Exercises about numbering systems and codes.
    First lab exercises (Lab week #3): These are highly reccomended exercises to work on for review,practice exercises, but they do NOT need to be submitted. (pdf) (Please notice that the Gray Code table is in page 29 in the textbook)


  • Exercises about truth tables and boolean algebraic manipulations.
    You are highly recommended to work with some algebraic manipulations of boolean expressions. You may want to work on exercises suggested by the textbook, or suggested during lecture time. You may choose any "Problems" in the textbook from 2-1 to 2-4 and 2-6 to 2-9 inclusive (pages 91, 92). The ones with a * have a solution in the textbook's companion website.


  • Lab week #4, Monday January 23:
    • IN-LAB guided tutorial #1 - Introduction to Design Works (pdf).
    • Exercises about algebraic manipulations.
      Once you finish the guided in-lab tutorial #1 you are highly recommended to continue working on previous lab exercises as suggested above.

  • Lab week #5, Monday January 30:

    • Questions and answers prior to Midterm.
    • For you to work, suggested:
      • guided tutorial from week #7 if you have not done it yet,

  • Lab week#9, Monday March 5 : Work on assignment

  • Lab week#10, Monday March 12
    • Lab week #10 - Exercises, review 2s-complement and intro to sequential circuits (pdf).

  • Labs week #11 and #12 - Work on assignments, midterm

  • Week #13 - Practice assembly exercises (to be done during class)

LAB EXERCISES SOLUTIONS.

These solutions should not be shared with students who are not registred in CMPT 150 Harbour Centre during the current semester 2012-1.
