An approximate homomorphic filtering method has been presented that reduces tissue intensity variation due to RF inhomogeneity across the PD-Weighted image volume of Data Set 1. The method is straight forward to implement and executes in a reasonable amount of time on a Sun SPARC 5 workstation. The method can be exploited for RF correction in MR images and is therefore explored further in Section 7.5.
