Weekly Lab exercises




Check the Admin → Labs characteristics section for descriptions about how to access the labs facilities, how to access your files in CSIL machines (both from the lab and from your home), about active participation in the labs and about the characteristics of the lab exercises and marking.

WEEKLY LAB EXERCISES

All lab exercises, whether requiring submission or not, will be posted here before the first lab class of the week. If a submission is required, that will be indicated in the exercises description, together with their due dates.

  • Lab exercises week #2 (pdf). Due date: Thursday January 24, 12:00 pm, via CourSys. You need to keep a copy, for your records, of all the files you submit.

  • Lab exercises week #3 (pdf). Due date: Thursday January 31, 12:00 pm, via CourSys. You need to keep a copy, for your records, of all the files you submit.

  • Lab exercises week #4 (pdf). Due date: NO SUBMISSION required. Solve the exercises to keep up with the class and prepare for MIDTERM.

  • Lab exercises week #5 (pdf) [UPDATED! Please download again]. Due date: Friday February 22, 11:59 pm (before Midnight), via CourSys. You need to keep a copy, for your records, of all the files you submit.

  • Lab exercises week #7 (pdf). Due date: NO SUBMISSION required. Solve the exercises to keep up with the class and prepare for MIDTERM.

  • Lab exercises week #8 (pdf). [UPDATED!, 1st March 2013! Please download again. The arguments for Credit and Debit methods can be of type double. As well CheckingAccount should override the abstract method Print from the parent class and this should output the account holder’s name, balance, and fee-charged-per-transaction]. Due date: Friday March 8, 11:59 pm (before midnight), via CourSys. You need to keep a copy, for your records, of all the files you submit.

  • Lab exercises week #9 (pdf). The problem to be submitted has been posted. Due date: Sunday March 17, 11:59 pm (before midnight), via CourSys. You need to keep a copy, for your records, of all the files you submit.

  • Lab exercises week #10 (pdf). Due date: Friday March 22, 11:59 pm (before midnight), via CourSys. You need to keep a copy, for your records, of all the files you submit.

  • Lab exercises week #11 (pdf). Due date: NO SUBMISSION required. Solve the exercises to keep up with the class and prepare for FINAL.

  • Lab exercises week #12 (pdf). [UPDATED!, 28 March 2013! Please download again. You can use String class methods equals, length and substring for Part-a of the problem you are required to submit]. Due date: Thursday April 4, 11:59 am (before NOON), via CourSys. You need to keep a copy, for your records, of all the files you submit.

  • Lab exercises week #13 (pdf). Due date: NO SUBMISSION required. Solve the exercises to keep up with the class and prepare for FINAL.

    You may work on Assignment 2, if not completed yet.

  • Lab exercises week #14 (pdf). Due date: NO SUBMISSION required. Utilize this week’s labs to ask the TAs questions about any of the topics covered in class so far. This will be your final opportunity to meet the teaching staff before the final exam. Remember that Object Oriented Programming topics will be the primary focus of the Final Exam.
