Moderator: The panelists are inclined to move forward once partner has shown a club fit. The favored mode of transportation is 3, which carries multiple meanings.
August Boehm: 3. Show a maximum with a spade concentration and keep clubs and notrump in play.
The Coopers: 3. If partner has two black bullets and a heart stop, we can make 3NT. If partner has nothing in hearts, then 5 is a possibility.
Don Stack: 3NT. It is IMPs, we are vulnerable and we are max with a good club suit and solid stoppers in the unbid suits, so 3NT seems to standout.
Stephen Vincent: 3NT. Vulnerable at IMPS, you've got to go for these thin vulnerable games.
Martin Henneberger: 3NT. Not accepting this invite would be pessimistic vul at IMPs. How could I ask for more? A good 13 with a 5 card club suit that partner can fill is more than enough.
Chris Diamond: 3NT. Originally bid 3 to show concentration, clever bid will probably win but they often lead spades if I don't tell them not to.
Larry Meyer: Pass. If pard is 10-12, 3NT is more likely to fail than to make.
Michael Dimich: 3. A very delicate bidding problem. Partner with good hearts will bid 3, the bonus holding will be mediocre hearts and the A.
Eugene Chan: Pass. Eugene's first rule: If partner can't bid game, neither can Eugene.
Andrew Krywaniuk: 3NT. 3NT is not clearly better than 5, but on a spade lead it could be the only makeable game.
Aidan Ballantyne: 3. These days of light openers this asks for a full opener. I like my hand so I show where I live.
Bob Kuz: 3. Happy with 3NT if partner can bid it.
Perry Khakhar: 3NT. With an expected spade lead, game should be a 50%+ proposition! It's IMPs and we are hot, AND I have a reputation to protect! ;)
Paul Mcmullin: 3NT. 5th club should help get to 9 tricks.
Amiram Millet: Pass. . . even vulnerable at IMPs.
John Gillespie: 3NT. I'm expecting a spade lead as often as a diamond.
Brian Zietman: 3NT. Accept the invitation. You have a 5-card suit and good intermediates.
Plarq Liu: 3NT. IMP Vulnerable Game . . . gamble.
Richmond Williams: 3NT. We cannot miss a vul game.
Kf Tung: 3NT. 3N will be playable with your 5-card club suit. You know it, you go for it.

Moderator: All but 3 of the panelists envision slam with this offensive blockbuster. Getting there with minimum mishap is, of course, the challenge.
Steve Weinstein: 4. I would love to bid 4 forcing, but I am not confident that it won't go all pass. I think if I bid 4 followed by 6, I have an outside chance of getting to seven when it is cold. I don't see a smart way to get to hearts if he has five good ones.
Mike Lawrence: 3NT. Easiest game available. I can see where nine tricks might come from and if I bid 4 or aim for a club contract, there are visible worries.
Barry Rigal: 6. 4 should be setting hearts, so I'll bid what I think I can make. Rightly or wrongly.
Bob Giragosian: 4NT. I hope this is Key Card Blackwood with clubs as the agreed suit. If I had hearts, I could bid 4 to show a big hand.
Martin Henneberger: 6. I don't know how to explore for a grand, or a 5-3 heart contract, so I will bid a reasonable 6.
Chris Diamond: 4NT. If he's got enough for the 4 level I have enough for slam and blackwood will work as well as anything else. (RKC for hearts?)
Larry Meyer: 3NT. Show my spade stopper, deny holding 4 hearts.
Michael Dimich: 4NT. Punters bid 6. Fallout shelter residents bid 3NT or 5. Waffle makers bid 4NT.
Eugene Chan: 6. Who knows what's best? This is a bidding contest, so I bid!
Andrew Krywaniuk: 4. I will insist on slam in either clubs or hearts.
Aidan Ballantyne: 4NT. It's a bidder's game. KC, presumably in clubs (last bid suit). Go through BW in case grand makes.
Bob Kuz: 6. Sometimes you're the bug; sometimes you're the windshield.
Perry Khakhar: 6. I don't know whether 5 is too high or whether 7 makes! But with 4 (yechhhh!) as the only forcing bid available, I will bid what I hope makes. Pre-empts work!
Paul Mcmullin: 4. No convenient way to convey strength of hand.
Amiram Millet: 4. Aiming at 6NT by partner while checking 6 or 6.
Leonid Bossis: 4. Shows independent club suit with extras; with minimal negative double North should sign off in 5, otherwise he can bid 4NT - RKCB for clubs.
John Gillespie: 6NT. Avoiding a lead directing double for diamonds and hoping for the best.
Brian Zietman: 4. Heading for slam.
Plarq Liu: 4. Slam try.
Beverley Candlish: 4NT. There is a good possibility for a slam in clubs. Cue bidding is out.
Kf Tung: 3NT. 3N is a reasonable spot for +400 or +430. Give up on trying for +500 with a pass, but partner may still show extras and then you will have a slam.
Bob Todd: 6. Partner should have enough to give me a play.

Moderator: The majority of the panel completes the 6-4 shape description of this hand by bidding 2, determining that the minor suit contract will pull more tricks than notrump. 2 is also more forward-going than passing.
Larry Cohen: 2. I love notrump at matchpoints, but still, 130 beats 120.
Betty Ann Kennedy: Pass. At IMPs, I would bid 2, but at matchpoints, I'm going for the bigger score.
Kerri Sanborn: 3. . . not forcing, but inviting 3NT. I show a pretty good 6-4 with some doubt.
Stephen Vincent: 2. Having a little in reserve.
Martin Henneberger: 2. I have a 6-4 13 count. It seems right to pattern out here.
Chris Diamond: 2. Just doesn't look no trumpy, even at MP's.
Larry Meyer: 2. Bid out my shape.
Michael Dimich: 2. Club lead kills one entry to the diamonds. 6 - 2/3 diamond fit with no Q means you need to duck one diamond. Defense is now an open book.
Eugene Chan: 2. Not much particular reason to get overly excited.
Andrew Krywaniuk: Pass. 2 is probably safer. This is just a matchpoint greed decision.
Aidan Ballantyne: 2. Might not be so good in NT if they lead a club.
Bob Kuz: 3. Pattern out where possible.
Perry Khakhar: 2. A plus would be nice! Passing 1NT can't be right even at matchpoints.
Paul Mcmullin: 3NT. The 10s should be helpful if they lead spades and partner lacks a diamond honor.
Amiram Millet: 2. Partner will help to decide between 3NT, 4, 5 or a partial.
John Gillespie: 2. If we have game, it's pard to move.
Brian Zietman: 2. Even at matchpoints this seems more prudent.
Plarq Liu: 2. Sign off.
Beverley Candlish: 2. I don't like my singleton A and what appears to be a misfit in hearts and spades.
Kf Tung: 2. Show your 6-4 shape and tell partner that 2 is better than 1NT, if he has nothing more to say.
Bob Todd: 3. . . invitational I hope. Wrong for 2N and wrong for 2.

Moderator: Most of the panel go for the natural 4NT.
The Sutherlins: 4. We have enough extras and 4 describes our hand perfectly: good five to six-card club suit with four spades, three hearts and short diamonds.
The Gordons: 4NT. Close to committing to slam, but no fit and poor club spots make us go low.
The Joyces: 5NT. Pick a slam.
Stephen Vincent: 4NT. One more try.
Martin Henneberger: 4NT. Well I have patterned out nicely. All that is left is to show extras. 4NT quantatative will get that message across.
Chris Diamond: 4NT. I have to show extras sometime don't I?
Anssi Rantamaa: 4. Showing interest in slam.
Larry Meyer: Pass. Since pard did not support either my clubs or my spades, I see no slam.
Michael Dimich: 6NT. J is a lovely card to elicit matchpoint drool.
Eugene Chan: 4NT. Almost impossible to recover from failure to jump shift 2 at first rebid. 4NT = I found another ace!
Andrew Krywaniuk: 4. We have slam values and partner hasn't denied a club fit.
Aidan Ballantyne: 4NT. Quantitative. Have to show my points, pard will judge the fit. Would like to bid 4 to show length but this may be Gerber.
Bob Kuz: Pass. Not a good fitter- 3 already implied extras.
Perry Khakhar: 4. Most likely slam is in clubs or NT. 4 is clearly forward going and significantly better than 4NT (non-descriptive). Some of my partners play either minorwood or kickback here.
Paul Mcmullin: Pass. No fits with partner - do not see tricks for slam.
Amiram Millet: 4. Going slowly to check for a grand slam.
Leonid Bossis: 4. Slam try with extra values and 4:3:1:5 or 4:3:0:6 shape.
John Gillespie: Pass. I've shown everything I have.
Brian Zietman: Pass. I would have preferred 2 on the 2nd round rather than 1.
Plarq Liu: 4. Slam try.
Beverley Candlish: Pass. I described my hand with my reverse bid. It is up to my partner to investigate slam if her has the points.
Kf Tung: Pass. Of course 3N will make, and let partner be happy when slams go down on other tables.

Moderator: Another monster hand heading towards the slam zone. Once again, you face a 3 preempt.
Betty Ann Kennedy: Dbl. I hope partner doesn't pass.
Karen Walker: 4. . . followed by 6 to force partner to choose at the seven level. It's barely possible that he doesn't have both red aces, but that's a chance I'm willing to take.
Don Stack: 5. Exclusion Key Card for clubs seems fairly clear.
Martin Henneberger: 4. Since 4 would be non forcing as an offer to play in game, I will start with 4 forcing, as a new suit below game is forcing. The real problem will come next.
Chris Diamond: 4. Who knows where we're going but forcing in your best suit can't be all bad.
Larry Meyer: 4. Expecting to play in 6 of a red suit - asking pard for his preference.
Michael Dimich: 4. They stuck it to us. Exclusion doesn't help divining partner's distribution.
Eugene Chan: 4. FORCING! Try to ignore partner's anguish over a rebid!
Andrew Krywaniuk: 4. A negative double is too risky, since down 3 or 4 doesn't compensate for our slam.
Aidan Ballantyne: Dbl. Only way to get both suits in economically. Take a chance this isn't left in.
Bob Kuz: 4. Forcing, I hope. :)
Perry Khakhar: 4. 4 followed by 5 over 4NT or 5! 6/5 come alive!
Paul Mcmullin: Dbl. Maybe partner has support for a red suit.
Amiram Millet: Dbl. Hope it's not converted into a penalty.
John Gillespie: 4. Forcing. Maybe I'll know what slam to bid next time but I'm not risking double - float.
Brian Zietman: 4. We could have any slam here - hearts, diamonds or even clubs.
Plarq Liu: 4. Michaels Cuebid.
Beverley Candlish: Dbl. If partner bids either of my two suits, I will investigate slam.
Kf Tung: 4. Raise to six if partner can bid 5 or 5. If partner bids 5 you bid 5 to ask for pass or correct.
