Moderator: It's unanimous. Every panelist elects to play a slam.
Mel Colchamiro: 5NT. . . pick a slam. I like this hand a lot, including the 10 8. Two notes of warning, however: 1. The A might be opposite a void, which reduces its value; and 2. Does 5NT (as opposed to 5) exclude spades from the slam choice list? I don't think so, but partner might.
Larry Cohen: 5. I would have bid the much more practical 3NT on the previous round. However, here we are, and I have enough prime cards to insist on slam, and might as well show the first-round heart control in case we can somehow reach seven of something.
Michael Dimich: 5NT. Bad breaks may limit us to 12 tricks.
Christopher Diamond: 5. 4NT should probably be natural but could be other things. So since he's got me in an impossible position with a cue bid, I send back a revenge cue bid.
Robert Sauve: 5. Get to minor suit slam.
Larry Meyer: 4. Partner had the opportunity to show a 4-card minor and didn't, so let him play in his own suit.
Perry Khakhar: 5. Let's see which slam we belong in.
Paul McMullin: 4. I do not know where partner was going, but he should be able to infer my shape.
Allan Simon: 4NT. . . for the minors. Whatever partner bids I will raise to 6.
Kf Tung: 5. Partner is expected to pass in case of weakness in spades, diamonds or clubs.
Hendrik Sharples: 5. Let partner pick the slam.
Gareth Birdsall: 4NT. I would have bid 3NT rather than double.

Moderator: You have a 10-count opposite partner's fourth seat opener. Are you allowed to pass at the two level against a contract bid by two passed hands?
Daniel Korbel: Pass. Gross. We have enough points that we don't want to sell out peacefully, but we also don't have many tricks. I just can't stand to double or bid on, so I'll compromise with a pass. This is probably why I don't win at matchpoints.
Steve Robinson: Dbl. I think partner has three diamonds because he didn't do something over 2. We have more points than they have so I'll go for plus 200. Strange that if they make +180, we'll get matchpoints from pairs going for −200 our way.
Michael Dimich: 2. E/W have the red suits. N/S have the black suits. Either direction can make two.
Christopher Diamond: Dbl. Fourth seat opener should be sound so go for the magic 200.
Larry Meyer: Pass. My 4 quacks and 4333 shape are telling me to defend.
Perry Khakhar: Dbl. Looking for the magic 200!
Paul McMullin: 3. Can not bring myself to sell out to 2.
Allan Simon: 3. Probably wrong but I don't think letting opponents play 2 is the way to win at màtchpoints.
Kf Tung: Dbl. Shall we get 200?
Hendrik Sharples: Dbl. I'll defend, or partner can run to 3.

Moderator: A near unanimous panel invites with their singleton Q.
Josh Donn: 3. You didn't make me vulnerable at IMPs with the Q and expect me to pass, did you?
Michael Dimich: 3. A heart raise will ease partner's heart worries.
Christopher Diamond: 3. Too much to pass vul at IMPs. Not good enough for 3. So what's left?
Larry Meyer: Pass. At least dummy will have a nice singleton trump.
Perry Khakhar: 3. I have to try and get to some game! Q is almost as good as two small, and this is a little better than raising.
Paul McMullin: Pass. Get out cheap with misfit minimums.
Allan Simon: Pass. What am I missing?
Kf Tung: Pass. Enough, partner, enough.
Hendrik Sharples: 3. Too much to pass, and don't want to commit to hearts just yet.

Moderator: With no great options, passing the double gets the edge.
Steve Weinstein: 3. Maybe I'm giving East's vul vs not preempt too much credit. Partner can be pretty light here.
Jeff Meckstroth: 3NT. Not clear what to bid here.
August Boehm: Pass. 3NT and especially 4 are possible, but the vulnerable penalty looks likely and might be substantial. We want partner to balance aggressively with shortness in their suit.
Barry Rigal: 4. A lot depends on who has the singleton diamond here. The upside of 4 is that if left-hand opponent has a singleton diamond, it may be an honor. Then the suit is blocked.
Michael Dimich: Pass. A bridge watching parrot sitting on your shoulder would squawk pass.
Christopher Diamond: 3. A distinct underbid but it is a balancing double and I'm quacky. A pass is possible but very risky.
Robert Sauve: Pass. Lead Q.
Larry Meyer: 4. Partner is probably hoping to hear me bid hearts, so I won't disappoint him.
Perry Khakhar: 3. I'm not punishing a balancer with a jump with these quacks! I have at most a queen too much. I'm afraid that queen is the Q.
Paul McMullin: 4. I wish my diamond pictures were in the black suits.
Allan Simon: Pass. Rolling the dice.
Kf Tung: 4. Nearest shot.
Hendrik Sharples: Pass. OK I'm a pig.

Moderator: The majority favour pass. Though double fits the 'do something intelligent' situation, they feel it will lead to 3 doubled too often.
Kerri Sanborn: Pass. Surely it could be right to double, but does that show all my points in the majors and only six cards? If partner indeed has hearts, then it's likely she has only four cards, in which case the hand could play poorly. I don't want to risk a disaster, but we could be missing a game. My defense is sketchy at best. There! I've talked myself into passing.
Zachary Grossack: Dbl. Hopefully partner takes this as one of those 'values, no clear direction' doubles (as I would play with most of my partners). We could easily be making four of a mjor and partner didn't have a strong enough hand to bid over 2NT, say: A J x x x x K Q x K x x x.
Michael Dimich: Pass. Where are our tricks in defense? I hope partner bids again with 5/5 in the majors.
Christopher Diamond: 3. Short a trump. Short some HCP. But a pass might finish the auction and I don't like double.
Larry Meyer: 3. At least dummy will have a nice doubleton trump.
Perry Khakhar: 3. Better than x x x!
Paul McMullin: Pass. Spades will be breaking poorly, so I am not eager to stretch with my flat hand.
Allan Simon: Dbl. Do something intelligent partner.
Kf Tung: Dbl. Maximum 1NT, 2434 or 2443.
Hendrik Sharples: Pass. Looking like a pointcount trap hand to me, partner can still act.
