Moderator: The vast majority show their concentration of values in hearts.
Jeff Meckstroth: 5. I think partner has 5 diamonds and 6 clubs for this auction.
Zach Grossack: 3. His bid should show a game accept with 6 clubs and 4 diamonds. I want to highlight my concentration in hearts so that partner makes an informed decision with his major-suit distribution. With Q K x K 10 x x K Q J x x x, we can now land in the correct contract of 5. With spade length, partner will bid 3NT.
Ralph Buckley: 4. I think pard is telling me that he has strength in diamonds and to bid 3NT with spades stopped. I'm not convinced that my J is a sufficient stopper so I return pard to his club suit.
Aidan Ballantyne: 5. Pard should be accepting the game but doesn't like 3NT. I'm not sure about 3NT either so I raise clubs. 4 should be forcing and my first choice as slam is possible (but remote). But I can't afford to be dropped in 4 so I just bid game.
David Walker: 3. Asking for some support in spades to go to 3NT.
Anssi Rantamaa: 4. Partner seems to have a two suiter unsuitable for 3NT.
Christopher Diamond: 3. One last try for 3NT.
Larry Meyer: 3NT. Even if partner only has 10 x, that will probably be enough for a stopper.
Andrew Krywaniuk: 5. The chance of overtricks in 3NT is minimal, and 5 is safer.
Hk Ho: 5. Pard's hand is likely x x x K Q x x A K x x x x.
Perry Khakhar: 4. Maybe partner is 0-3-4-6. That may explain his bidding. 4 may be the right contract, but not presuming anything, I will show my club support for now.
David Gordon: 5. J x x x is not holding up for 3NT.
Plarq Liu: 4. Certainly partner has the minors, no need for 3NT.
Allan Simon: 3. Hoping for Q x x K Q x x A Q x x x x which gives us a chance.
Kf Tung: 3NT. 9 or 10 quick tricks.

Moderator: The split on this one was tight. Of note: no one passed. Bridge is a bidder's game!
Steve Weinstein: 3. I'm not worried about missing a 4-4 heart fit with this crappy hand and crappier heart suit. As a bonus, our four hearts make it less likely they can make a takeout double.
Mike Lawrence: 1. If hearts belong to the opponents, I should bid them. If hearts belong to us, I should bid them.
Ralph Buckley: 4. Preemptive. We are not vul.
Aidan Ballantyne: 1. For now I pretend that I actually have something.
Eurydice Nours: 3. Preemptive.
Christopher Diamond: 1. If we were playing a system where 1 is usually a real suit, I'd raise. But we're not.
Larry Meyer: 1. I have a comfortable rebid in clubs.
Andrew Krywaniuk: 1. Preempting won't stop West from bidding spades. How high to compete will depend on our heart fit.
Hk Ho: 2. If not playing inverted minors, 2 has some obstructive effect. The heart suit is too weak to bid.
Perry Khakhar: Pass. Not a very good hand to preempt vulnerable. Pointed quacks are a sure sign to pass.
David Gordon: 1. I do not like preempting with a 4 card major.
Plarq Liu: Pass. Not enough HCP.
Allan Simon: Pass. Second choice is also pass.
Kf Tung: Pass. Any bid will start your way to a minus score.

Moderator: A good problem. The panel find 3 different ways to head towards slam.
Larry Cohen: 4NT. Opposite at least one key card, I will just guess to bid 6.
Steve Robinson: 4. 4NT keycard would not allow me to ask for the Q. Partner's hand is limited, so over my 4, he can show something by bidding 4NT or 5, sign off by bidding 5 or force to slam. K Q x x x x is enough to show something. If partner bids anything other than 5, I'll bid 6.
Daniel Korbel: 3. A very annoying hand. All I want to do is get to slam if partner has one keycard and the Q, but I can't use 4NT to find out because it'll get us too high sometimes. I'm going to hope this turns out well - if partner bids 3NT, I can bid an unambiguous 4 as a slam try.
Ralph Buckley: 3. Asking pard to bid 3NT with a spade stopper. Also shows support for pard's diamonds.
Aidan Ballantyne: 4NT. Keycard for diamonds; keeping it simple.
Christopher Diamond: 3. Playing Kickback I'd bid that because I could find out about the K Q before 5.
Larry Meyer: 3. Let partner know that my clubs are real.
Andrew Krywaniuk: 3. Show heart values and a good hand.
Hk Ho: 3. Shows a stopper and a strong hand. With a spade stopper, pard can go 3NT. Otherwise, 4 or 4 are acceptable.
Perry Khakhar: 3. If partner can bid 3NT, we have done our job! 5 may still be the correct spot, but let's see what happens.
David Gordon: 6. Slam try.
Plarq Liu: 3. We have a strong hand, better convey it.
Allan Simon: 6. Playing partner for x x x x x K Q x x x x x x
Kf Tung: 3. Shows a strong hand, club suit and values in hearts.

Moderator: The edge in the voting goes to 2NT.
Mike Lawrence: 3. I hate this bid, actually. But it gives me a chance to learn if partner has two spades. This is a familiar hand, not one of my friends.
Jill Meyers: 2. My hand is too good for 2 and the wrong texture for 3. 2NT is a possibility, but if I bid 2 and partner bids 2, I will raise to 3, and if partner bids 2, I will bid 2NT.
Mel Colchamiro: 3NT. Maybe 2NT is the technically correct bid, but I have a sixth spade. Also, because I don't have three cards in hearts, I won't be blowing a 5-3 fit there. On the downside, the K Q is a weakness.
Josh Donn: 2NT. I generally play methods to uncover a 6-2 major-suit fit over this, but would rebid 2NT either way. 3 is also acceptable, only because of the good spots.
Sylvia Shi: 3. I have six spades and 18 points. I'm just not that creative.
Aidan Ballantyne: 3. Set the game force, allow for preference to 3 (in which case I bid 4).
Christopher Diamond: 3. I'd like slightly better spades. I'd also like a Ferrari.
Larry Meyer: 3. Show the maximum opener and the 6-card suit.
Andrew Krywaniuk: 3. Make the obvious value bid.
Hk Ho: 3. Maximum and 6+ cards long.
Perry Khakhar: 3. Seems to be the only logical bid. Unless you play some esoteric convention!
David Gordon: 3. Highly invitational.
Joel Forssell: 2NT. Game forcing?
Plarq Liu: 3. Artificial jump bid to show a strong hand. Spades are not strong enough for a 3 rebid.
Allan Simon: 3. In a very practiced partnership, 2 might work better.
Kf Tung: 3. Forcing with good extra values in clubs.

Moderator: The majority keep it simple with a raise to 5. The minority go for the matchpoint greed with a choice-of-games 4.
Kerri Sanborn: 4. It's so likely to be a six-card suit when partner overcalls at the two level that I offer up hearts as the higher scoring contract. The two low spades keep me from slamming via a 5 cuebid. Should partner be 2-5-4-2, he can remove to 5 himself. With 5-5 in the reds, I could have caught a Michael's cuebid.
Roger Lee: 5. I'm not going to pass, and I don't want to suggest better support for hearts than I have, so this is all there is.
Aidan Ballantyne: 5. Cue bid. We already set diamonds as trumps (on this particular auction).
Christopher Diamond: 5. If he has the expected two spades my clubs could be wasted. Could try 4 but I need less for 5.
Larry Meyer: Pass. To bid 5, would need a singleton or a void instead of those two worthless doubletons.
Andrew Krywaniuk: 5. Game should be on no worse than a finesse here.
Hk Ho: 5. Hope partner has A K and A Q for his 2 level overcall.
Perry Khakhar: 4. Just a suggestion partner!
David Gordon: 5. Game try.
Bob Todd: 5. I hope this is a cue bid and not just clubs!
Allan Simon: 5. Let's not get too greedy.
Kf Tung: 5. +400 is better than -50. Some pairs will try 4 and go down.
