Moderator: The first problem, the panel follow the first tenet of BAM strategy: plus scores are good.
Barry Rigal: 4. I am not sure if this is sensible or not; either Pass or 5 might work. Note that at this form of scoring, we only need to beat the other pair with our cards. If game is bad, Pass might well hit the jackpot. Still, I'll go for the max, expecting partner to bid 5 or 4 with a really unsuitable hand.
Daniel Korbel: Pass. While I would try either 4 or 5 at IMPs - because the game bonus is so appealing - at BAM, it is very dangerous to bid here again. You need a perfect hand from partner to make either 4 or 5, and besides, we don't know which one to bid. We are allowed to put down a good dummy once in awhile.
Eugene Chan: Pass. BAM is a strange game. 5 may lose to 4 or even 6. So why guess? Standing pat on my (hopefully) guaranteed plus.
Ian Greig: Pass. Writing down a few hands suggests that game is about 50:50.
Stephen Vincent: Pass. Partner is playing you for about these values when he bids over a preempt. The extra diamonds don't compensate for the soft holdings and flat distribution.
Jongseok Oh: 4. N-S vul., my partner may be stronger than normal overcall 4. So try to fit hearts first.
Andrew Krywaniuk: Pass. No aces, and partner's failure to double suggests heart shortness.
Larry Meyer: 5. Support with support.
Mike Roberts: Pass. This is my guess - hope it's right.
Plarq Liu: 5. At least 5. It is pointless to try hearts now.
Paul Mcmullin: 5. Pass is a close second choice, 4 a distant third.
Norm Tucker: Pass. 31 HCP in other 3 hands and 5 quick losers says stay home.
Chris Diamond: 5. What else?
David Gordon: 4. Offer a place to play. If pard pulls then bid 5.
Amiram Millet: 5. Too strong to pass.
Beverley Candlish: 5. Partner must have a good hand to bid 4. I don't want to miss a game.
Kf Tung: 5. Playable game. Expect to lose 2 tricks, and it is very difficult for the defence even if it can be defeated.
Timothy Wright: Pass. I think this is between pass and 5. 4 is piggish. We have trumps (good) but no shape. 5 is gambling that partner has the right heart cards (A x [x] or J x x x).
Perry Khakhar: 4. Since it is BAM, 5 is the same as passing if 4 makes! It's worth a shot despite being a poor IMPs bid.

Moderator: Invoking Bob Hamman's name is always a popular way to justify 3NT.
Larry Cohen: 3NT. Blame Hamman if this is wrong. Even -50 or -100 might be OK if they are making 140. I don't want to double and be dummy with a spade lead through.
Roger Lee: Pass. A somewhat close decision, but I think we're much closer to five tricks than nine.
Eugene Chan: 3NT. Unlike previous problem, I will try 3NT at all forms of scoring.
Ian Greig: Pass. For 3NT to be right it feels like I need little bit more than a source of tricks (i.e. favourable lead(s), club stopper(s)).
Stephen Vincent: Pass. There are limits. Underweight for 3NT and a double will, even if you find a fit, result in the contract being played from the wrong side
Jongseok Oh: Pass. K, J are not in a good position.
Andrew Krywaniuk: Pass. No source of tricks, and we should have a good chance of setting this.
Larry Meyer: 3NT. If 3NT is a likely contract, you should bid it.
Mike Roberts: 3NT. Hamman's rule.
Ig Nieuwenhuis: 3NT. My hand is probably more valuable in 3NT than in 4.
Plarq Liu: Dbl. Pray that partner has hearts.
Norm Tucker: Dbl. What else?
Chris Diamond: 3NT. What else?
David Gordon: 3NT. Slightly sub minimum.
Amiram Millet: Pass. Hope to set it at least one down. 3NT is too risky.

Kf Tung: Pass. You are unlikely to miss a game so you will be fine to defend 3.
Timothy Wright: 3NT. Yes, Double could work out, but we won't get to 3NT after a double.

Moderator: Another pass-double-bid problem. The panel see a lot of upside to bidding.
Don Stack: 3. Because partner should have, at most, two spades, we are bidding in the hope that we can catch a decent dummy and push them to the three level. The opponents can probably make a couple of spades and who knows? We may be on for 3.
Mike Lawrence: 2NT. Dangerous. But safe in that if partner has the right 2-point hand, he will bid something, like 3. Defending 2 rates to be a bad idea.
Steve Robinson: Dbl. It doesn't pay to sell out to the opponents when they have an eight-card spade fit in any form of scoring.
Geoff Hampson: Pass. Minus 200 looms large here if partner can't take action, so I will avoid a large minus and try for a plus on defense.
Eugene Chan: 3. Opps have a fit. We should also have a fit. And that is most likely in clubs.
Ian Greig: Pass. Even if we have a club fit I'm not sure I want to play it at these colours and so will leave if up to partner to double with short spades and undisclosed offence.
Jongseok Oh: 2NT. Q 10 is half a stopper.
Andrew Krywaniuk: Pass. Partner can still balance with a singleton spade.
Larry Meyer: 2NT. Show my spade stopper and extra values.
Ig Nieuwenhuis: 3. Partner is probably almost broke. Let's try to lift them 1 trick and score a plus.
Plarq Liu: 2NT. Bidding 2NT might be risky, unless East has the J, my spade holding might not stop them.
Norm Tucker: 3. Come on partner.
Chris Diamond: Dbl. 3 possible but double has more wiggle room.

Kerri Sanborn: Pass. It sounds like I have two more diamonds than partner has spades. I could have played the 6-0 spade fit, but not at the three level. My spots are not good enough.
The Sutherlins: 3. We were close to making an invitational 3 call last round. We have a poor dummy for partner. 3 should play OK even when we get no spade help.
Eugene Chan: 3. Spade suit is good enough to play opposite singleton or void.
Gilbert Lambert: 3. Why did I rebid only 2?
Ian Greig: Pass. If partner has a sixth heart my doubleton diamond might help establish them. Passing might also work if he has a sixth diamond with only five hearts.
Jongseok Oh: 3. 9 points and singleton. So, invite game.
Andrew Krywaniuk: Pass. When you're in a hole, stop digging.
Larry Meyer: Pass. There has already been enough bidding for this misfit.

Moderator: Here's BAM aggression at work.
Mel Colchamiro: Dbl. In context, I have a great hand and a great chance at plus 200 or more. At BAM, I don't like to put the board up for grabs, but this seems so obvious.
Jill Meyers: 4. I am tempted to bid 5 and would not be shocked if we made 5, but I am going for the plus at board-a-match. (I would bid 5 at IMPs, but no one cares about that.)
August Boehm: Pass. I would double at matchpoints and try to beat the field, willing to risk a bottom. At BAM, I'm only trying to beat one table and prefer to keep the board in play.
Eugene Chan: 3. Would have originally jumped to 3 instead of wimpy 2.
Ian Greig: Dbl. Slam feels a long way off and with only a doubleton club in hand (and most likely a singleton spade opposite) I feel that +800 is more likely than only +500. If bad breaks in side suits mean we collect less, then games our way might also be off.
Stephen Vincent: Dbl. Good defensive values here and no clear fit. Worth a shot at the form of scoring.
Jongseok Oh: Dbl. 3 Quick tricks, both vul., so penalty double.
Andrew Krywaniuk: Dbl. If we can actually make 5 of a minor, then 3 doubled should be carnage.
Larry Meyer: 4. My honours in my minors fit so well with partner, that I need to keep the bidding alive.
