CSIL Labs
You Can work in the CSIL lab in the MTF as well. The programs you need are:
- Java: See the CSIL Java Instructions.
- WinRAR:
Right-click on a
.zipfile to open it; right click on selected files to create a.zip.
Before you can use the CSIL labs, you must complete an ethics form. Submit it to the Computing Science main office, leaving a few days for it to be processed.
Proxy Setup
To access web pages outside of SFU, you need to make a configuration change in Netscape.
From the "Edit" menu, select "Preferences." In the Preferences window, select the "Advanced" item and "Proxies." Select "Manual proxy configuration" and enter an HTTP proxy.
The HTTP proxy server (first blank) should be proxy.sfu.ca and the port (second blank) should be 8080.
