I will lead a discussion about this paper that appeared in the most recent
issue of IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems. Almost all
of our meetings to date have involved presentations. In recent meetings
there has been a noticable increase in both attendance and questions from
the audience. We might be ready to try a more interactive and less formal
format for some of our meetings. I think that this paper provides a good
basis to try a discussion-oriented format. Please try to read or at least
glance at the paper before the meeting. It is available through the library at
http://80-ieeexplore.ieee.org.proxy.lib.sfu.ca/xpl/tocresult.jsp?isNumber=26325

I will put all of the diagrams from the paper on transparencies and I will
give a brief introduction to the topic. Hopefully, discussion and maybe even
some brainstorming about future research questions will follow.
