Abstract:
We'll be discussing "Games, kernels, and antitone operators", a paper
by Jorg Flum. (Yes, the same Flum who co-athored the book "Finite Model
Theory" with Ebbinghaus).
The author talks about a close correspondence between games on graphs and antitone operators. He generalizes some theorems of combinatorial game theory from games to antitone operators.
Our interest here goes in the other direction, from antitone operators to combinatorial games. What (if anything) do the modularity properties of antitone operators (my work with Marc Denecker on NMID-logic) say about strategy functions of games on graphs?
Copies of Flum's paper are available at (ASB 9901). The discussion will be lead by Eugenia Ternovska and Oliver Schulte.
