6   Limitations

6.1   Limitations of the Simulated Model

• The simulated Itanium processor is incomplete in the following areas:
  • The IA32 mode is not implemented.
  • Some floating-point exceptions are unimplemented.
  • The only supported OS is Linux.
  • The ALAT is not implemented, which means that data speculation always fails.
  • Parts of the instruction set are still missing.
  • Big-endian memory access modes are not supported.
  • Stalling from a timing model is not supported.
