PROJECT 1: YOUR PERSONAL CMPT470/CMPT882 PROJECT PAGES |
||||||||||||||||||||
There are three parts in this project: Part 1. If you haven't already, you need to get familiar with accessing your personal web directory at gemini.csil.sfu.ca. You need to know the procedure on how to transfer files to your personal directory, set directory and file permissions, set passwords, and test your documents using browsers at local machines. You also need to know how to compile java class files and run java programs at gemini.csil.sfu.ca. You can learn this by making a very simple java class like HelloWorld by following our tutorial, compiling and running it. . Part 2. In your personal web directory, create an html web page with a filename of your choice. You can use any tool or method as you wish. On this page you need to include your name, student ID, your email address, and a table to indicate the URLs of the all future projects you will have already finished, as follows:
As you complete each homework assignment, you should add the URL as a hyperlink to the appropriate spot in the table. In this way the TA can easily locate your projects. The TA will use this page to access all of your projects by clicking on the corresponding links. Send the URL of this page to the TA. On a project’s due date, the TA can go to your page and mark your project without you emailing him each time. You will not tell any other students in class about the location of this web page. You can make this page under any name you like, so other students will not look into your solutions easily, even if they obtained your browsing password. The location of this page should not be changed if not necessary. Part 3. For this part, you will create an entry web-page as the homepage for an online movie store, which when finished, will be an e-commerce web site after all of the necessary techniques have been introduced through this course. You can assume that the store sells movie DVD’s, VCR’s or online movies as you wish. On this page, you can use your creative power to design a professional, or stylish-looking web site. You are free to design it by yourself, but you must at least include the following components:
After you finish part 3, fill in the corresponding URL of the first page into the project table that you made in Part 2. |
