Policy on Academic Honesty

Don't cheat!

All assignments are meant to be done individually. If I think cheating might have occurred, evidence will be forwarded to the University Board on Student Discipline and they will decide. If cheating has occurred, an F grade will be awarded. Discussion about labs is encouraged, but do your own work (unless the task is specifically designed as a group project). Near duplicate assignments will be considered cheating unless the assignment was restrictive enough to justify such similarities in independent work. Just think of it that way: cheating impedes learning and having fun. Please also note that opportunity makes thieves: It is your responsibility to protect your work and to ensure that it is not turned in by anyone else.

If source code (to enhance) or other material from the WWW is used, it should be acknowledged and a priori permission should be sought. Taking source code from a peer or the WWW or a book to complete a lab makes you culpable.

And here is the Schools official disclaimer:
Academic Honesty plays a key role in our efforts to maintain a high standard of academic excellence and integrity. Students are advised that ALL acts of intellectual dishonesty are subject to disciplinary action by the School; serious infractions are dealt with in accordance with the Code of Academic Honesty (T10.02). Students are encouraged to read the School's Statement on Intellectual Honesty.
