CMPT-301 Project

Prepare a case study on a topic relevant to information technology. You must pick a specific, concrete topic, e.g. a particular company, person, computer, technology, etc. If you are unsure if your topic is suitable, please ask --- don't wait until just before it's due to find out you've chosen an inappropriate project.

The written portion of your project must be 10 pages or shorter. The spoken part is at most 15 minutes.

This project is done in teams of two. How the work is divided is up to you, although you should probably both be involved in the research for the case study. Inform the TA (Ryan Gunther) as soon as you have found a partner, or if you cannot find a partner.

One or both of your team members can give the presentation. You are welcome to use whatever technology you want to give your presentation, although you must hand in a set of overhead slides even if you don't plan to use them.

To summarize, the project consists of the following:

a written research report, maximum 10 pages (a small penalty for every page beyond 10 will automatically be assigned)
an oral presentation, minimum 10 minutes, maximum 15 (you will be cut off after 15 minutes)
overhead slides of your presentation must be handed in at the end of your talk, even if you do not use overheads in your presentation
