I've been impressed with your work, and want to put you in charge of an important project: find computing resources for all the CMPT-301 students. You have a budget of $130,000.00 (CDN), and, for the next class, prepare a plan for purchasing computers for all CMPT-301 students. I want all the students to have state-of-the art computers, the best software, the best hardware, and the easiest to use systems out there. Second best is unacceptable.
Make sure not to use any of the SFU computing resources in your plan. Check the web, local flyers, etc. for information. Make sure to convert everything to Canadian money, and don't forget all those taxes!
Prepare, at most, a 1 page summary of your plan (make sure you bring a copy to give me --- why not make a web page?), and be prepared to give, at most, a 1 minute brief on your plan.
See you next week --- I will be on vacation and unreachable until then, but I am confident you will do well with this assignment. Remember, this is your first step down the hallway to an office with a window.
