About this Site...

Purpose

This site was designed to help CMPT 300 students get quick access to some basic facts and policies and changes to deadlines and due dates, as well as provide easy access to project specifications and reading and homework assignments.

Tools

This site is produced using Frontier (an object-oriented database/scripting system for the Macintosh and Windows platforms) and Alpha (an extensible text editor) under MacOS. Graphics are created with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

Course documents (notes, project handouts, etcetera) were created with LaTeX and WriteNow under NEXTSTEP, using Adobe Acrobat Distiller and Exchange.

Validation and Accessibility

It's important to produce clean HTML code to ensure that standards compliant browsers can produce the desired results. To that end, Web pages on this site are validated using the tools provided by the World Wide Web Consortium.

Accessibility is also a concern, and Bobby provides a way to check these Web pages to ensure that they are useful for people using almost any browser, including browsers which read the contents of the page to a visually-impaired user.
