All of your pages for this course must be uploaded to the course web server. You can transfer the files using either of the methods described below. See Appendix A in the Study Guide for more information.
If you upload a file named page.html
into your public_html
directory, it will be visible on the web with a URL like this:
http://cmpt165.cs.sfu.ca/~userid/page.html
Of course, you should replace userid
with your own userid. You can create directories inside your public_html
directory if you want to organize your files.
Disk Quota
Before you start transferring files to the web server, you should keep in mind that there is a limit on the total size of the files you have on the course web server. It is currently set at 10 MB.
Uploading using Secure File Transfer
This is the preferred method of uploading files to the course web server. This is the only method that will be supported by the TAs and the CSIL staff.
You will first need to download and install a secure file transfer program.
Once you have the program installed, you just have to connect to cmpt165.cs.sfu.ca
using the username and password for your CMPT 165 server account. Then, you can copy your web pages into the public_html
directory.
