Rules for Making Email Contact



Sending Emails to the Instructor or the TA

When sending email to the instructor and/or the TA, please, ensure that you have provided the following information.

In the body of your message:
  • Student name;
  • Student number;
  • Student account (username)
  • email address for the reply if different from the "From:" field of your email.
In the subject line of your message
  • CMPT 102 - along with the topic of the message.
    • For example: "CMPT 102 - missed assignment #2 due to illness"
  • Please be sure to indicate CMPT 102 in your subject line. We receive a great deal of email, if you omit the subject line there is a serious risk that your message may be missed and thus not receive a timely reply.
PLEASE NOTE: As your instructor, I allocate 30 minutes each weekday for answering student emails. I normally answer emails between 4:30 pm and 8:30 am. I will answer your email questions in the same sequence they arrive, please be patient, I will reply as soon as possible.
